While conducting building inspections, I occasionally come across floor tiles that sound hollow. That sound indicates an inadequate base and poor adhesion. These loose tiles could last for years and never crack, but without being fixed solidly, they are prone to breakage. All it takes is moving a heavy object like a refrigerator across the floor and you risk the tile cracking.
If too many hollow tiles are present, then more significant repairs are needed, such as removal and replacement of flooring. But if the problem tiles are just a handful, they can be fixed individually. You don’t even have to remove the tile! I had tremendous success* on my own tile floor using Fix-A Floor. This stuff is great!
